Brand new Vaisala Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) installed and commissioned into service on 9-6-18.  System detects wind speed and direction, temperature, ceiling, any type precipitation (rain, sleet, snow, fog), measures amount of any rainfall, visibility, lightning, thunder, and density altitude.  The system is an excellent asset for the airport and navigational aide for aviators coming and going from Sharpe Field.  Radio Frequency is 121.125, and phone # for AWOS is 903-690-0511.
